This is an organization of New Jersey Judo Dojos with a mission to improve the quality of Judo in our state and provide support through the creation and implementation of programs that will help develop our Judokas into the leaders of tomorrow.
Judo of New Jersey, Inc. was founded by Sensei Yoshisada Yonezuka a 2X Head Coach of the US Judo Team for the 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games, 3X US Judo World Team Coach, 9th Degree Judo Black Belt, Former President of Judo of New Jersey, Hudson Yudanshakai and United States Judo Federation. A Visionary, Genius and Patriot of the Olympic Sport and Martial Art of Judo. He ushered in an era creating a legacy of solid Judokas that became US National Champions, Olympians and leaders insuring that our sport is well cemented not only in New Jersey but in the United States by spreading the positive message and attributes of Judo. Sensei Yonezuka passed away October 18, 2014.
Current Judo of New Jersey, Inc. President Sensei Anthony Camal of Camal Judo was a student of Sensei Yonezuka for 10 years during his competitive years vows to continue Sensei Yonezuka’s legacy to spread the positive message of Judo and how it can enhance your live.
Per Sensei Camal: Judo of New Jersey is our vein into USA Judo the governing body of Judo that manages the US Olympic Team. The vision of USA Judo as a world leader providing maximum opportunities to all its members with programs from core development to Olympic gold. The Mission and purpose as the National Governing Body (NGB) and member of the US Olympic Committee to enable all United States athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence in domestic and international judo competition, and the promotion and growth of the sport of Judo in the United States.
